BUS 110 Week 4
Hello, this week was a good week of learning. Several of my classes have taught me some incredible things. We finished the Launching Leaders book and it was excellent. I explained more about that in my book report but the last couple of chapters were great for helping a future entrepreneur get excited to help others both with my business and because I will have a successful business someday. It had a great discussion on how young people today want to have a purpose in their work which leads them to start businesses or work for companies with a purpose so as business owners if we want good employees we need to have a purpose for the business.
We also discussed fears this week in class and worked to understand what is holding us back from going for it. We put our fears into perspective and realized often our fears are not actually as scary as we make them out. It helped me to realize that “Yeah I might fail and some things might be hard if that happens but definitely not impossible to fix. Many people have gone through those things and have made it out the other side. Even if I don’t succeed would it be better to say when I die that “I died trying” and worked hard to achieve my goals. I don’t want that feeling of having my kids or grandkids asking me why I didn’t go for my goals.
At the beginning of this week we learned about how to measure our lives and how we need to chase after our dreams and do what we love. We learned from Francis Ford Coppola that “We should do what we love because we will get better at it.” I really enjoyed that. We also need to find the things we love, what people will pay us for, and what we are good at. When we do that we will have passion in our work and will be happier with life.
